LCT to Present “Mamma Mia!”

Rehearsals began on January 6, for the upcoming New Bloomfield Lions Community Theatre production of Mamma Mia! Anticipation runs high for this production, a contemporary musical with high energy songs and dances. Recognizing the demands of the musical, following auditions choreographer Ronya Martel encouraged everyone to “go work on improving your cardio, we have a ton of dancing to do!!!”

Mamma Mia! is the story of Sophie Sheridan, (Michelle Summy), and her search to find her father so that he can walk her down the aisle as she marries Sky (Otto Wallenmeyer). LCT theatergoers remembering Michelle and Otto’s dance number in the 2019 LCT production of Guys and Dolls, will look forward to seeing them in these new roles. Sophie has three dads from whom to choose, played by Andy Harrison as Sam Carmichael, Justin Lee as Bill Austin, and LCT newcomer John Mallonee as Harry Bright.

Donna (Rebecca Trosino), Sophie’s mother, was once the lead in a trio called Donna and the Dynamos. Actors portraying the trio are pictured above from left, Angie Harrison (Rosie), Rebecca Trosino, and Catrina Gardner (Tanya). Rounding out the cast are Sarah McNiven, Katherine Brown, Patrick Guyer, Adam Sheriff, and Jeff Kuhns, as well as the ensemble.

Mamma Mia! will be presented on April 2-4, 2020, at the West Perry Senior High School, Elliottsburg, PA. Tickets will go on sale February 17, and may be purchased through nblions.org, and at the Bloomfield Pharmacy, Perry County Council of the Arts Gallery, and the Blain Library.
