NB Lions Host Four Diamonds Child Devon Pulaski

Nick Pulaski, father of Four Diamonds child Devon Pulaski, was the featured speaker at a recent meeting of the New Bloomfield Lions Club. Pulaski related to the club the ways in which Four Diamonds benefited him and his family during Devon’s treatment for cancer at the Penn State’s Children’s Hospital in Hershey, PA. Following Pulaski’s talk, the NB Lions presented a check for $500.00 to him, to be used by Four Diamonds in the mission to conquer childhood cancer.

Four Diamonds was founded in 1972, for the purpose of helping parents and children affected by childhood cancer, and supporting research seeking cures and improvements in treatment for childhood cancer. In 1977, Four Diamonds partnered with Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. For eligible children, Four Diamonds covers all medical expenses not covered by insurance. Research is carried out through the Four Diamonds Pediatric Research Center.

The PA State Council of Lions Clubs has entered into a partnership with Four Diamonds, in conjunction with an international focus upon childhood cancer, which is an initiative introduced at the 101st Lions Clubs International Convention in July, 2018. There are 19,000 Lions in Pennsylvania, and the clubs are committed to raising $100,000 during the first year of this partnership. The New Bloomfield Lions Club are pleased to be able to be among the first supporters of this initiative.
