New Bloomfield Lions Support BCC Pool
When the Bloomfield Centre Carroll Pool was established almost sixty years ago, the New Bloomfield Lions Club was one of the founding sponsors. The Lions Club has continued this relationship through the years, providing financial support and labor to maintain the pool equipment and facilities.
Lion Dan Paul is also a member of the Board of Directors of the BCC Pool, and is the liaison between the two entities. Paul works on pool equipment, and provides labor and supervision for needed refurbishing such as repainting the pool this spring. Paul also reports to the Lions Club when support is needed to repair or replace aging equipment. Paul’s active engagement maintains the relationship between the two organizations.
The BCC Pool is open to the public from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Hours are 12:30-8:00 through July, and 12:30-7:00 in August. Various events are held during the summer, including swimming lessons and water yoga classes. There is also a covered pavilion adjacent to the pool which is available for public use. New Bloomfield Lions Club support for the BCC Pool is possible because of funds raised through Lions Community Theater and the Lions’ summer lemonade stand.
